Retail professionals and IT experts gathered at the first edition of Retail Data Talk & Beer, organized by the analytical company A4E in partnership with Microsoft Bulgaria. The lecturers of the event, which took place on December 14, 2017 at Sofia Tech Park, highlighted not only the importance of working with data in the retail sector, but also focused on specific business benefits.
In an informal atmosphere and accompanied by bunch of boutique beers, Hristo Hadjitchonev - CEO of A4E, illustrated the effectiveness of the analytical work with retail data through real business case studies. His presentation covered sales forecasting for different product categories – starting with fast moving consumer goods with limited shelf life to those whose order must be put at least 6 months before the actual delivery. Mr. Hadjitchonev gave also insights on demand & sales forecasting on goods with delivery period at least a year ahead.
Shortly before, Ekaterina Marinova - Data & AI Specialist from Microsoft Bulgaria presented in a wider context the directions from which retailers can benefit from their work with data.
